Display Issues with X-Axis

Hi All

i've some problems with a chart. To be precise, the chart works fine,
the only thing that doesn't work the way I want it to is the X-Axis, or
even more precisely the labels of the X-Axis.
I have a 2-Axis Chart, with a line-chart linked to the primary Y-Axis and
a bar-chart linked to the secondary Y-Axis.
Now I wanted the X-Axis to display the Label. Not really a miracle that
I'm expecting here, but Excel proves me wrong. Excel doesn't want to
show me the labels, so i started to change things, like chart-size, fontsize
and many other things, even Zoom. Well to be honest, if i would had to make
subtle changes I and my boss wouldn't have any problems changing them. But
the changes are all that big, that they are instantly recognizable if you look
at the chart!

Does anyone know of that problem?

I could even send you the .xls!?
Who knows, probably it works fine on your PC.

Thanks to all
Carlo

Forgot to mention, that with the Major Changes the Labels are displayed!!
But I can't make those changes because it would look too bad!

Thanks again

Hi,

Some checks,

that the category axis is linked to the correct cells.
Right click chart and pick Source Data. On the series tab is a box for
category labels range/text.

right click the chart and pick chart options. On the axis tab make sure
the X-axis is enabled.

double click the x axis and on the patterns tab see if TickMarkLabels is
set to None.

Cheers
Andy

Hy Andy

thanks for your answer. unfortunately it didn't solve my problem.

If I resize the chart area to, let's say 130%, then everything is displayed
the correct way!
And that's the big problem, i can't change the format of the chart (i.e.
Size, Fontsize,
Colors...)

Would it help, if you would take a look at the File?

Thanks again

The problem is caused by the first few cells of the category labels
range being empty.
Putting spaces in the first cell will cause the other text to be
displayed. The number of spaces required is dependent on the other text.
