Creating Average Line on chart

I am making creating a bar graph that will graph 7 plants numbers based
on a period. I have excel to where i enter the period # in cell a1 and
then below it, it will pull the information for the period for each
plant. I'm trying to place a line in the graph that will show the
average performance of all of the plants for that period based on a
cell that calculates up the average. Is there any way to set this up?
I have tryed a few things with it but it always brings the average as
another bar or just a dot, not a line like i need
