error codes, what they mean, and suggested corrective measures to take?

example: Run-time error '1004': Unable to get insert properties.

Daffnee,

"Trappable errors" are errors that can be intercepted (trapped) by the written code.
This allows (in properly written code) some alternative action to take place to work
around the error. A simple illustration...

Dim dblValue as Double
Dim lngNumber as Long

On error goto ErrHandler
' if lngNumber equaled zero, an error would occur
dblValue = 100 / lngNumber
' more code
Exit Sub

ErrHandler:
dblValue = 10
Resume next
