Hi,
I have an embedded chart with a scrollbar and zoom objects placed on the chart. The chart appears on a worksheet where users input data, and the chart helps them to not schedule too much work in any given year of the project. The scrollbar enables them to see any particular year, and the zoom enables them to see from 1 to 20 years at at time. I need to protect as much as I can but still have the scroll and zoom work. They both work perfectly with the worksheet protected and chart unprotected. The cells linked to the scroll and zoom are unlocked. I would very much like to protect the chart along with the worksheet, but when I click the Locked box on the chart to protect along with worksheet, the scroll and zoom become frozen and I can't operate them, even tho they are both Unlocked. Leaving the chart unlocked in order to operate the scroll and zoom leaves it vulnerable to people accidently moving labels or destroying the chart. But yet I really want the scroll and zoom bars on the chart. Is this an impossible ask? Thank you for any suggestions! Harold |

Hi Harold,
Assuming that you are using a Form control on your chart, right-click the control (scroll bar) and choose Format Control, Protection and uncheck Locked. If you are using the Control Toolbox controls then expose the Control Toolbox, click the Edit Design Mode button and then preceed as above. Then you should be able to protect the chart and still employ the controls. -- Cheers, Shane Devenshire Microsoft Excel MVP "Harold Good" wrote: > Hi, > I have an embedded chart with a scrollbar and zoom objects placed on the > chart.
