Default Saving Excel 2010 files as web page or single file web page

I don't seem to be able to save Excel 2010 files as web or single file web
pages. A dialogue box with the following appears:

"Book1.xlsx may contain features that are not compatible with Web (or Single
file) Page. Do you want to keep the workbook in this format?

To keep this format, which leaves out any incompatible features, click Yes.

To preserve the features, click No. Then save a copy in the latest Excel
format.

To see what might be lost, click Help."

Using Excel 2000 and 2003 I can save Excel files as web pages then upload to
my website. Any suggestions?

Thank you.

Thumbs up Answer: Saving Excel 2010 files as web page or single file web page

It sounds like the Excel 2010 file you are trying to save as a web page or single file web page may contain features that are not compatible with those formats. Here are a few suggestions to try:
  1. Check for compatibility issues: Click on the "File" tab in Excel 2010 and select "Info". Under "Check for Issues", select "Check Compatibility". This will run a compatibility check and highlight any features that may not be compatible with web page or single file web page formats. You can then remove or modify these features to make the file compatible.
  2. Save as a different file type: If you are unable to make the file compatible with web page or single file web page formats, you can try saving it as a different file type that is compatible with your website. For example, you can save the file as a PDF or a CSV file, which can be uploaded to your website.
  3. Use a third-party tool: There are third-party tools available that can convert Excel files to web pages or single file web pages. You can search online for these tools and choose one that meets your needs.

I hope these suggestions help you save your Excel 2010 files in a format that is compatible with your website. Let me know if you have any questions or need further assistance.

Default Saving Excel 2010 files as web page or single file web page

Joe -

What happens when you click Yes?

I was able to save as a web page (although graphic objects on the worksheet
that save fine in Excel 2003 were somewhat messed up when saved with Excel
2010 Beta).

Since Excel 2010 is a beta version, it's useful to post the specific
version. I'm using 14.0.4536.1000.

Default Saving Excel 2010 files as web page or single file web page

This works for me for Excel 2010
Select "File"
Select "Save As"
Select "Web Page (*.htm;*.html)" [Do Not Use - "Single File Web Page (*.mht;*mhtml)"]
Select radial button next to "Entire Workbook"
Select "Publish"
Using drop down select sheet you want to publish
OR "Remove" Sheets that you do not want to publish by highlighting
the sheets you do not want and selecting "Remove"
Select "Browse" and select the destination directory of the file
Select "Save as type" as "Web Page (*.htm;*.html)" [Do Not Use - "Single File Web Page (*.mht;*mhtml)"]
Name file using the extension ".html"
Select "Ok"
Select "Publish"
You should now see the html file in your destination directory
