In my previous version of Excel there was an option to double click on a
linked cell and Excel would then take you to that cell or the source data if
it was a poivot, how do I do this in Excel 2007?

Thumbs up Answer: Double Click to go to source

Yes, the "Double Click to go to source" feature is still available in Excel 2007. Here's how you can use it:
  1. First, make sure that your linked cell or pivot table is in the same workbook as the cell you want to double-click on. If it's in a different workbook, you'll need to open that workbook first.
  2. Next, select the cell that contains the link or pivot table.
  3. Double-click on the cell. Excel will automatically take you to the source cell or pivot table.

If you find that this feature is not working for you, it's possible that it has been disabled in your Excel options. Here's how to check:
  1. Click on the Office button in the top left corner of the Excel window.
  2. Click on Excel Options at the bottom of the menu.
  3. In the Excel Options dialog box, click on Advanced.
  4. Scroll down to the Display section and make sure that the "Enable fill handle and cell drag-and-drop" option is checked.
  5. Click OK to save your changes.

Once you've enabled this option, the "Double Click to go to source" feature should work as expected.

ButtonExcel OptionsAdvancedEditing Options.

Uncheck "allow editing directly in cell".
