Default How to compress an Excel file once deleting extra worksheets

In an excel file - have done Pivot Tables to get summary data. I have then
deleted the Pivot table worksheet. What seems to be happening is the file
size still remains quite large - and have difficulty sending it on to other
individuals. Is there a way to compress the file size once I delete out the
unneeded worksheets - to make it smaller to send via e-mail?
