Default My Excel columns are now denoted with numbers not letters, why?

My columns are now numbered instead of alpha. All formulas no longer use the
standard column and row designations as before. What has changed and how do I
go back to the original style? Help!

Toolsoptionageneral and uncheck R1C1 reference style
