Default Excel worksheet tabs in a vertical arrangement on left side.

I would like to see an option in Excel to put worksheet tabs in the left hand
column. With this arrangement one could see more woksheets at one time.

Thumbs up Answer: Excel worksheet tabs in a vertical arrangement on left side.

Unfortunately, there is no built-in option in Excel to arrange worksheet tabs on the left-hand side of the screen. However, there are a few workarounds that you can try:
  1. Use the "Arrange All" featu This feature allows you to view multiple worksheets at the same time by arranging them in different ways. To use this feature, go to the "View" tab and click on "Arrange All". From there, you can choose how you want to arrange the worksheets, such as vertically or horizontally.
  2. Use a third-party add-in: There are several third-party add-ins available that allow you to customize the Excel interface, including the position of worksheet tabs. One such add-in is called "Workbook Tabs for Excel", which allows you to move the worksheet tabs to the left-hand side of the screen.
  3. Use a macro: If you are comfortable with using macros in Excel, you can create a macro that will move the worksheet tabs to the left-hand side of the screen. However, this will require some programming knowledge and may not be suitable for everyone.

Overall, while there is no built-in option to arrange worksheet tabs on the left-hand side of the screen, there are several workarounds that you can try to achieve a similar result.

Hello corlem,

Have a look at this fantastic Add-In:

http://www.contextures.com/xlToolbar01.html

It gives you a toolbar with a drop down list of all your sheets!!
Not exactly what you wanted but a great way around the problem.
