Not all text wraps in a cell containing large amount of text
A cell contains several paragraphs of text. Only the first dozen or so lines
of text wrap. The rest doesn't wrap and each following paragraph can only be seen partially. |

Not all text wraps in a cell containing large amount of text
I would try the following: Select the column or Cell and go to "FORMAT CELLS" select "Alignment" - "Vertical Alignment" - then select "TOP" and also ensure the "WORD WRAP box is checked. The default is usuall "bottom" and then if you have a narrow row - it will sometimes only show the first line. You might also have some paragraph returns entered. Insert a column next to the column that needs to be "Cleaned" and then select the "CLEAN" Function and then select the cell you want to "CLEAN" -- wjohnson ------------------------------------------------------------------------ wjohnson's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=29640 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=495656 |

Thanks, It still doesn't wrap all when the amount of text gets too big.

Not all text wraps in a cell containing large amount of text
Kris
Excel Help on "limits" or "specifications" reveals that Excel will allow 32,767 characters to be entered in a cell. However, it goes on to state that "only 1024 characters will be visible or can be printed" To work around this limitation, stick a few ALT + ENTERs in at appropriate spots, about every 100 characters.. The ALT + ENTER forces a line-feed and expands the 1024 limit. How far is not really known. Just experiment. .........From Dave Peterson.......... I put this formula in A1: ="xxx"& REPT(REPT("asdf ",25)&CHAR(10),58)&"yyy" And adjusted the columnwidth, rowheight and font size and I got about 7300 characters to print ok. .........End Dave P................. Failing that, use a Text Box to store the text or MS Word which is a word processing application, unlike Excel which is not.
