Default pivot table date field

i have a field in a data table called entered. it lists the date and time
the entry was made. i have a pivot table from this data table to summarize
my data. i want to see data that was entered in the month of february only.
is their a way to do this with a calculated field?

You can do this by grouping the field..

1) Add Entry_Date (or whatever its called) to the pivot
table as a Row field.
2) Right-click in that column in the pivot table
3) Select Group & Show Detail/Group from shortcut menu
(may be just 'Group' in older versions)
4) If you get a "Can't group..." message here then you
have some none-date or blank data in this column and need
to fix it. If not, select Month from the list and click OK.
5) Now use the pivot field drop down to select only
February.

Cheers,
Dave
