when drawing a line graph on excel how can you get the gradient on the line
graph

Default how can one get a gradient from a line graph

You can calculate the SLOPE using the original worksheet data:

=SLOPE(Yrange,Xrange)

Or you can add a trendline to the chart. Right click on the series and
select Add Trendline.

Unless the X values are dates, you should not add a trendline to a line
chart. Use an XY chart instead.
