Default Can Excel be started minimized?

I need to run Excel along with some data collection software I am running. I
would like to start Excel minimized and keep it that way. I believe I will
need to set this up in Excel. I've written some macro's in the data
collection software that will start Excel and that works. But as soon as I
try to add a switch to the program name of "Excel.exe" the macro chokes.
(e.g. I tried to use the /e switch with excel).

Thanks...Bernie

I put a shortcut to excel.exe on my desktop.

Then I rightclicked on that shortcut and selected properties.

On the shortcut tab, I could choose minimized in the Run box.
