Default select detail in column B if column A = date

I and trying to create a separate cover sheet for a monthly worksheet that
includes daily info by line. The dates are found in column "A" and the
related daily info is stored on the same line. My question is, how can I
bring the related info for either the last daily info added, or if the
entered date for the report matches the date in column "A" from the
worksheet. (i.e. "A1" = 9/1/06, "B1" = total invoices, "C1" = total paid.
etc.).
