How do I do a count in a column. I have a column with A, B, and P in it. I

Try this:
Letters in the range A1:A100 C1 = A C2 = B C3 = P Enter this formula in D1 and copy down to D3: =COUNTIF(A$1:A$100,C1) -- Biff Microsoft Excel MVP "Nordic" wrote in message ...
