Default Worksheet defaults numbers automatically to two decimal places

A colleague of mine has been using excel fine and when inputting numbers
they have used the general number format so type "1" and you see "1". He is
not aware he has changed anything but even when opening a new file/worksheet
if he types in "1" it now defaults to 0.01.

How do I get this changed back so that each time he opens a new file
/worksheet we dont have to format the individual cells??

Thanks

Steve

Try:-

Tools|options|edit

Uncheck fixed decimals
