What does a small green triangle in the upper left hand corner of a cell mean?

Hi
indicates that Excel thinks your cell contains an error. Just move the
cursor over this triangle and click on the appearing excalamation mark

These are a new addition to XP and 2003 called smart tags. They can be used
for a multitude of things from errors, through stock symbols to addresses,
etc. Look up smart tags in help for greater detail.
