Default Right-Click not working in Excel 2007. Works in other Office 07 pr

Is there a feature that switches Right-Clicking on and off?

Right-Click has suddenly stopped working in Excel 07 although works fine in
other Office 07 programs.

How do I get it to operate again?

Thumbs up Answer: Right-Click not working in Excel 2007. Works in other Office 07 pr

It's possible that the right-click feature in Excel 2007 has been disabled or there may be an issue with the mouse or touchpad settings. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Check if the right-click feature is enabled in Excel:
    • Click on the Office button in the top left corner of the Excel window
    • Click on Excel Options at the bottom of the menu
    • Click on Customize in the left-hand menu
    • Under "Choose commands from" select "All Commands"
    • Scroll down and check if "Enable Selection" is listed. If it is, select it and click "Add" to add it to the Quick Access Toolbar. If it's not listed, the right-click feature is already enabled.
  2. Check the mouse or touchpad settings:
    • Go to the Control Panel on your computer
    • Click on "Hardware and Sound"
    • Click on "Mouse" or "Mouse and Touchpad"
    • Check if the right-click button is set to the correct function. If not, adjust the settings accordingly.
  3. Try using a different mouse or touchpad to see if the issue persists.
  4. If none of the above steps work, try repairing or reinstalling Microsoft Office 2007.

I hope these steps help you resolve the issue with the right-click feature in Excel 2007. Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns!

here (with Excel closed):

Thanks for that, but I'm using Vista. What is the equivalent file location?

"Document And Settings" was removed in Vista. You now have a folder named
"Users" which will contain a folder with your user name.

I found the file by using the search feature.

I renamed it as .old and now right-click works again.

Thanks for your help. Can someone explain what the Excel12.xlb file actually
does?

*.xlb files holds all the toolbar info (customizations, what's visible, what's
not visible).

Deleting it said that you want to start over from scratch.
