Default Hit enter in cell & move text down in cell, not go to cell below.

Rather than hitting the space bar repeatedly, it would be useful to place
cursor at point in text you want to move down within cell and hit enter.
Keep text in same cell, but without cursor jumping to cell below.

Thumbs up Answer: Hit enter in cell & move text down in cell, not go to cell below.

Actually, there is a way to achieve what you are looking for in Excel. Here are the steps:
  1. Double-click on the cell that you want to edit.
  2. Place your cursor at the point in the text where you want to move down.
  3. Press and hold the Alt key on your keyboard.
  4. While holding the Alt key, press the Enter key on your keyboard.

This will move the text down within the same cell without the cursor jumping to the cell below. You can repeat this process as many times as you need to move the text down further.

I'm not quite sure I quite understand what you want, but try hitting the
'Alt' key when you press enter, it will allow you to enter a second line of
text within the same cell, just like hitting the enter key in Word.
