Cool What function to be used for the following cases

In the following example i have the dept in one coloumn and y/n criteria in other, is there any formula for me to get the total count of Y in the summary against each dept

Pls assist

sales Y
it Y
production N
quality N
sales N
it Y
production Y
quality Y
it Y

Summary

prod
