To calculate the percentage difference between budget and actual:

Formula:
=(Actual-Budget)/Budget*100 
  1. Subtract the budget from the actual amount in a new cell.
    Formula:
    =Actual-Budget 
  2. Divide the result by the budget amount.
    Formula:
    =(Actual-Budget)/Budget 
  3. Multiply the result by 100 to get the percentage difference.
    Formula:

To increase the previous year to the current year:

Formula:
=(Current Year-Previous Year)/Previous Year*100 
  1. Subtract the previous year amount from the current year amount in a new cell.
    Formula:

  2. Divide the result by the previous year amount.
    Formula:
    =(Current Year-Previous Year)/Previous Year
